In October 2025, Nvidia's market value crossed $5 trillion — the first company to do so, roughly two and a half years after it first crossed $1 trillion in May 2023. As of October 2026, it sits near ~$5.5 trillion (approximate, not a live quote). For context: the entire US stock market was worth roughly $50 trillion, so one company represented about a tenth of it.
Our visualization page stacks $1 trillion in $100 bills at 679 miles high. Five trillion stacks ~3,395 miles — roughly the distance from New York to London, straight up. It would weigh about 50,000 metric tons, and the stack would reach a quarter of the way to the International Space Station's orbit thirteen times over — actually, it would tower past the ISS more than thirteen times stacked end to end.
One number per second: counting to $1 trillion takes 31,710 years. Counting to $5 trillion takes 158,549 years — before anatomically modern humans left Africa, several times over. Spending $1 million every single day, $5 trillion lasts 13,699 years.
AI infrastructure demand. Nvidia's data-center chips became the picks and shovels of the AI buildout, and hyperscaler capital spending — hundreds of billions a year — flowed disproportionately to one supplier. The multiple expanded as the market priced in years of continued spending. Whether that spending continues is the open question behind the number; the visualization above is about the scale, not the investment case. See the full arc on our milestone timeline.
